Layering Up

When you're out exploring winter landscapes on a snowmobile, the key to success is staying warm and dry. The wind and cold temperatures can easily cause hypothermia if you're not careful, so make sure to wear plenty of warm layers that cover every inch of skin.

The best clothes for riding a snowmobile are made with performance materials that wick away moisture. For a base layer, you have two choices: a one-piece riding suit, which covers the whole body; or a snowmobile bib, which is more like overalls. Either option should be worn with additional layers over it. There is no reason to hold back when it comes to layering – after all, if you get too warm, you can always remove a layer or two!

Gloves and Boots

To protect your hands, choose gloves that fit well and do not limit your dexterity. Remember, you will need full use of your hands to operate your snowmobile! The best snowmobile gloves are insulated, waterproof, and breathable.

Snowmobile boots are also essential. Choose boots that are insulated, waterproof, and provide good traction for walking on snow and ice. Pair them with thick wool socks for additional comfort and warmth.

Helmets

Last but not least, the most important piece of snowmobile gear is your helmet. Don't skimp on quality or safety when it comes to your helmet. Make sure it fits comfortably, and meets all the safety standards for riding a snowmobile. Snowmobile helmets should provide full-face coverage and good ventilation.
